A couple reported taking home bed bugs along with two new pairs of jeans from Port Charlotte (Fla.) Town Center over the Nov. 24 weekend, according to a report by Fox 4, a Fort Myers area Fox affiliate.
Hillary and Matthew Nystrom first discovered the bugs on Matthew’s leg when he pulled on a pair of jeans, the report said. The bug had bitten Matthew’s leg several times. After telling his wife, Hillary unfolded the second pair of jeans and discovered another bug.
Hillary searched social media and saw that other Port Charlotte Town Center shoppers had complained about similar experiences, the report showed.
Port Charlotte Town Center owners told Fox 4 they were aware of the complaints, but had no comment for the news station beyond that.
