Pi Chi Omega celebrated its golden anniversary at Purdue in January.
In January, the industry’s professional pest control fraternity, Pi Chi Omega celebrated an important birthday – its 50th. At the 65th Annual Purdue Pest Control Conference (see PCT’s special editorial supplement in December 2000, http://www.pctonline.com/backissues/issue.asp?MagID=1&ID=135), Dr. John Osmun, one of the fraternity’s founders, spoke to the association’s members about the early days when the group was founded.
"The aims that were identified at the fraternity’s founding (included): to further the science of pest control; to encourage and promote the formal education of potential members of the pest control industry; to further the mutual benefits and associations of the members of Pi Chi Omega; to cooperate with the National Pest Control Association in furthering its aims; to further information that would be of significance to the members of the pest control industry; and to further public respect and confidence in professional pest control," Osmun said. "These aims have stood the test of time."
