At November’s NPMA PestWorld convention in Las Vegas, PCT and Syngenta recognized five industry professionals during a special Crown Leadership Awards reception. Dan Moreland, publisher emeritus of PCT magazine — along with PCT Publisher Jodi Dorsch, PCT Managing Editor Brad Harbison and Marshall Gaster, head of marketing, Professional Pest Management, Syngenta — presented awards to:
- Gary Curl, Specialty Consultants, Jacksonville, Fla.
- Freeman Elliott, Orkin/Rollins, Atlanta, Ga.
- Suzanne Graham, Massey Services, Orlando, Fla.
- Marty Overline, Aardvark Pest Management, Philadelphia, Pa.
- Donnie Shelton, Triangle Pest Control, Raleigh, N.C.
Since 1988, the Crown Leadership Awards have been given annually to pest management professionals, university educators, industry distributors and association officials who uphold the highest standards of industry ethics, while contributing their time and talent to a broad range of professional and civic organizations.
Once again, PCT and Syngenta presented a “Lifetime Achievement Award” to a past Crown Leadership Award winner, as voted on by previous honorees. This year’s honoree was Gary Rollins, CEO of Rollins (Orkin). Also at this year’s ceremony, GIE Media (parent company of PCT) President and CEO Chris Foster thanked Moreland for his 41 years of service to the company. Moreland recently transitioned away from day-to-day publishing responsibilities and is working on special projects for PCT.
