NPMA and BedBug Central reported that more than 500 attended 2018's Global Bed Bug Summit in Denver. Both general sessions as well as the breakout track sessions were filled with pest control owners, operators, property managers, affordable housing representatives, pest technicians and more. Everyone seemed to receive knowledge on techniques or products to help benefit their business or housing complex in the fight against bed bugs, the groups report.

TUCSON, Ariz. – Truly Nolen Pest Control recently announced the promotion of Jonathan "Jay" Ramirez to Manager of the company’s Lake Mary (Fla.) service office at 620 Lake Minnie Drive.
Ramirez joined Truly Nolen in July 2017 as a Manager-in-Training. Prior to joining the company, he spent about three years as a greenhouse manager for Agristarts in Apopka where he managed a 60,000 square foot facility. In addition, he graduated from Valencia College with an associates degree in Horticulture.
Some of Ramirez’s new responsibilities will include helping the service office gain more visibility with the local Lake Mary community as well as instilling the company’s core values throughout his team. “I believe my background in horticulture and sales will help me in my new role,” said Ramirez. “I am looking forward to impacting our customer’s lives in a valuable way.”

Québec City and Université Laval will host a major international conference on using insects as food for both humans and animals. The 3rd International Insects to Feed the World Conference (IFW), which will be held at the Québec City Convention Centre from June 3 to 6, 2020, will bring together 500 experts from around the globe to discuss the status of research and the potential of insect protein for feeding the world.
Professor Grant Vandenberg and Marie-Hélène Deschamps, who heads up the Entotechnology Program in the Animal Science Department at Université Laval’s Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences, were able to secure the conference for the city.
