MILFORD, N.H. – JP Pest Services of Milford, N.H. recently provided relief for a local homeless man dealing with a major bed bug infestation. After being contacted by the man’s pastor JP Pest Services decided to perform the treatment at no cost; since the infestation quickly became unmanageable and too costly for the man to handle on his own.
The homeless man who has been living out of his van since last winter was in desperate need of help. Once JP Pest Services arrived to survey the situation the need to reduce the bed bug population through professional treatment was painfully obvious. The man constructed a bed frame and shelves inside the van to hold his personal belongings; unfortunately the frame work acted as a perfect hiding place for hundreds of bed bugs.
With the summer heat making the bed bugs more aggressive JP Pest Services decided the best course of action was to use a combination method of a full heat treatment using the company’s heat truck as well as a steam and chemical method. The heat treatment raised the temperature in excess of 130 degrees to ensure all the bugs were eliminated. All of his clothing and cloth items were laundered in hot water and dried on a high heat cycle (which is recommended for items that cannot be treated with heat).
The treatment performed by JP Pest Services resulted in an immediate drop in the bed bug population living inside this man’s van. They will be following up to inspect and treat the van for a second in the upcoming weeks ahead.
