Waynes Pest Control, an Anticimex company, has acquired Southland Pest Services, a family-owned pest management company based in Fort Walton Beach, Fla. The acquisition was announced by Kemp Anderson Consulting, which advised Southland Pest Services throughout the transaction.

Founded in 2000 by Jeff and Mary Rushing, Southland Pest Services built its reputation on delivering professional, courteous service at competitive prices throughout the Florida Panhandle.

Waynes said the acquisition strengthens its presence in the region and continues its strategic growth across the Southeast.

Plunkett’s Pest Control announced the acquisition of Insect Control Specialists (ICS), a family-owned business based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This partnership increases Plunkett’s presence in the region.

ICS was founded in 1948 by Mary and Richard Andersen. Their daughter, Leslie Parker, after college, purchased the business and continued the family legacy.

Under her leadership, ICS built a loyal customer base of homeowners and businesses alike through a people-first approach, Plunkett’s said.

“After so many wonderful years in this business, it was important to me that the next chapter for ICS was the right one,” said Parker, former owner of ICS.
