New Products

Bayer Environmental Science
Bayer Environmental Science announced the availability of Temprid SC Insecticide, a new general use insecticide which provides unsurpassed ant and perimeter pest control product.

Temprid delivers a dual mode of action that not only provides highly effective ant control but also eliminates the ant’s primary food source, honey dew, which is produced by plant pests like aphids, mealy bugs or scale insects, the company reports.

Temprid’s dual mode of action combines two long-standing residual insecticides: Beta-cyfluthrin and imidacloprid. The result is Temprid, which provides quick knockdown and long residual control of more than 50 pests, including ants, spiders, cockroaches and other key perimeter pests. In addition, Temprid offers broad spectrum control and is labeled for indoor and outdoor use, setting it apart from the other leading products as the most flexible perimeter product on the market.

Temprid is available as a suspension concentrate. One gallon of the product contains 2 pounds of imidacloprid and 1 pound of beta-cyfluthrin.  Temprid SC is available in a 400 ml bottle, and is designed for application in and around buildings and structures, as well as on established landscape ornamentals around residential and commercial properties.

Whitmire Micro-Gen introduces PermaCap CS Controlled Release Permethrin, a microcap general use spray that offers 30-60 day residual in both residential and commercial settings.

PermaCap CS features SmartCap Technology, the latest microencapsulation formulation science from Whitmire Micro-Gen. PermaCap CS enhances residual control of the active ingredient, permethrin, by enabling it to work for up to 60 days, the company said. The product effectively controls more than 50 pests, including ants, bees, flies, spiders, cockroaches, mosquitoes and centipedes. It is approved for use in a wide variety of settings including homes, hotels and warehouses, and is effective on many surfaces such as concrete and mulch, that compromise other formulations fast. Compared to EC and flowable formulations, pest management professionals will see longer residual control, which reduces customer callbacks, the company said.

FMC Professional Solutions
www.fmcprosolutions.com
FMC Professional Solutions has received registration from the State of New York for the sale and use of Transport termiticide insecticide and Transport GHP insecticide, two broad-label, non-repellent products. Transport has a flexible label, allowing pest management professionals in New York to extend their coverage area, both for termites and general pests, such as ants, fleas, ticks, roaches and spiders. In addition, Transport extends its coverage because of its non-repellent formulation, which combines fast-acting control and long-term residual.

Transport GHP insecticide combines a dual-action approach of fast-acting results and a long-lasting residual. Offering a unique formulation and low dose technology, Transport GHP transfers among pests and is ideal for controlling ants, crickets, earwigs, mosquitoes and other household pests, the company said. Transport GHP comes available in 0.3-ounce, water-soluble bags. Transport termiticide insecticide is a wettable powder formulation packaged in 7.5-ounce, water-soluble packets.

DuPont Professional Products
www.proproducts.dupont.com/acelepryn
For PCOs involved in lawn care, DuPont Professional Products has released Acelepryn insecticide. Acelepryn is registered for use in California after an accelerated review and approval process, the company said. The California Department of Pesticide Registrations (CDPR) initiated its review of Acelepryn prior to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) registration of the product. Proven to control all key turf-damaging white grub species and other key pests such as the black turfgrass ataenius and the black cutworm, Acelepryn has been adopted in the Midwest and Northeast, the company said.

With just one early application of Acelepryn, turf managers and landscape professionals can control grubs and surface-feeding insects such as cutworms, webworms, weevils and billbugs. Professionals can eliminate at least one treatment to control surface feeders.

Acelepryn features a new class of chemistry, the lowest application rate ever used for grub control and performance proven by more than 500 university field trial protocols, the company said. Acelepryn is designed to control white grubs and other turf-damaging pests on a wide range of sites, including golf courses and commercial and residential turf sites.

MosquitoMax
www.mosquitomax.com
MosquitoMax has introduced a dual-valve mosquito misting system that gives pest management professionals several options to offer their customers: spray an organic repellent, spray insecticide, or spray both in a one-two punch depending on daylight, conditions and property use. One common scenario is spraying a “green” repellent during daylight when beneficial insects are out, then spraying an insecticide at night to kill mosquitoes quickly and efficiently.

Another is spraying the eco-friendly repellent to control the majority, reserving the option to spray insecticide when mosquito populations increase.
The twin-valve system was developed in 2007 and the first production run went to local Houston properties in 2008.

Liphatech
www.liphatech.com
With the introduction of a gray option for its industry-advancing Aegis-RP bait station, Liphatech has created a product that’s attractive to pest management professionals and their customers, and offers a cool lure to rodents, the company reports. The Liphatech Aegis-RP gray station includes the same “see the exit before entry” design of the original station, but provides the additional benefits of a lighter color that blends well against concrete or other light-colored building materials. That makes it less noticeable to the end user, whether it’s a commercial customer or a homeowner.

In addition, the lighter color gradation of the bait station means summer temperatures inside the unit are cooler and more attractive to rodents. The Aegis-RP gray bait station maintains Liphatech’s “stay on the runway” pattern that encourages rodents to investigate, enter and feed. The easy-to-reach bait compartment appeals to the rodent’s natural feeding habits.

Meyer Industries
www.rodenator.com
To eliminate burrowing rodents and their tunnels, the Rodenator Remote R2 Pest Elimination System now includes remote wireless detonation up to 200 feet from the source with 20 percent more concussive power, the company said.

The Rodenator Remote R2 system, like the Rodenator Pro System it’s based on, can deliver a precision underground shockwave to the targeted animals’ tunnels and dens — eliminating the rodents and collapsing their tunnel systems to prevent re-infestation — without the use of chemicals, poisons or time-consuming baiting and trapping, the company said. The R2 system also creates less user fatigue, allowing for more pest control treatments per hour, the company said. For added safety, lighted controls on the back of the unit show its stage of use, and quick connection fuel hoses and internal rechargeable lithium batteries add to its ease of use, the company said. With the R2, once a user finds a tunnel opening, typical treatment time is about one per minute.

With more concussive power, the R2 is even more effective against open tunnel system animals such as rabbits, ground squirrels, prairie dogs, ground hogs, badgers, armadillos, fox and coyote as well as gophers, moles, voles, woodchucks and rats.

The functionality combines the benefits of both the infrared image and visual picture at the push of a button. The B400 camera does this in real-time and the overlay function can be easily adjusted to suit any application such as revealing potential structural and moisture issues, energy efficiency and rodent or pest discovery, the company said.

Teletrac
www.teletrac.net
Teletrac has announced it is developing several new options for its Fleet Director’s automated navigation product. Real-time, fully automated, voice communicated traffic information will be available to supplement the voice prompt, real-time, speed-calibrated driving instructions. Powered by NAVTEQ Traffic, Fleet Director provides routing information based upon high quality sources such as proprietary and government sensors, proprietary incident data and probe data, the company said. Throughout the trip, the system then monitors traffic conditions and automatically contacts the vehicle if a better route develops due to changing traffic conditions.

All route calculations are performed by Teletrac-hosted servers from which the information is downloaded to the vehicle. This configuration allows the most current map data to always be available without requiring any customer involvement, the company said. By knowing each vehicle’s location and status, companies can control and reduce their fuel consumption levels with more efficient dispatching, the monitoring of vehicle speeds and controlling out-of-route miles, the company said.
