The Berlin-based company UrbanGuard has recently introduced its product called "Down Under" to the U.S. pest control market. The product is a ground anchor that secures bait stations in areas that could be accessible to children and others.
The company also has a product called the "Stixx Vario" spike system that prevents birds from landing on structures. According to the company, instead of using many different products for narrow or wider ledges, this product is available for use on many different sizes of ledges.
B&G Equipment Company has added a Termite Timer to its line of termite tool accessories. Since termite applications are usually less than 15 seconds, B&G’s Termite Timer is made to maintain accuracy at lower time periods, the company says. The Termite Timer has three buttons and is easily set to the number of seconds per hole. It is positioned on the tool so PCOs can press "start" at the same time they pull the trigger. It then counts down and beeps at "0" letting PCOs know when to let go of the trigger. And, if for any reason the chemical is not flowing properly, PCOs can stop and start at any time during the countdown mode.
Whitmire Micro-Gen has recently introduced the new ACE Station Dispensing Pump, the newest component of the Advance ACE System. The unique ACE Station Dispensing Pump is designed to measure and dispense 1-fluid ounce of Advance Liquid Ant Bait each time it is depressed. PCOs can use this tool to quickly and easily place and record the precise amount of bait needed in a particular location, Whitmire Micro-Gen reports.
QuikStrike Fly Abatement Strip from Zoëcon Professional Products is a unique, self-contained product that targets and controls nuisance flies, including house flies and lesser house flies, the company says. The active ingredient in QuikStrike is Nithiazine. Two feeding attractants and a fly sex pheromone provide triple attraction for bringing flies to the strip. Designed to be placed within fly feeding areas like garbage cans, compactors and dumpsters, QuikStrike can be used outdoors and in protected indoor areas, such as loading docks, to provide up to eight weeks of fly control.
Coxreels’ wide range of air hose reels accommodate ¼-inch i.d. hose up to 1½- inch i.d. hose and will hold lengths up to 100 feet on an automatic spring rewinding wheel. All reels have an adjustable four-roller guide arm to meet PCOs’ specifications. The standard latching device will hold any length of hose a PCO needs without pullback tension, the company says. A baked-on powder coat finish arms these reels with a high luster appearance and a tough chip- and weather-resistant surface, Coxereels reports.
The Eliminator foundation vent fan from D&D Chemical Inc. is designed for circulating outside air through the crawlspace of a structure to reduce moisture problems. According to the company, the Eliminator is designed to be mounted to a new or existing crawlspace vent. It operates off a temperature switch that activates the motor at temperatures of 50 degrees or more. An optional, adjustable dehumidistat can be used to operate the unit at varying levels of relative humidity.
The Hannay PW-2 Series reel is ruggedly constructed of 12 and 16 gauge steel, with a black powder coat finish. The PW-2 Series reel has a pressure rating of up to 4,000 psi. Streamlight Inc. has announced that the company’s ProPolymer flashlights are Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) listed for use in Class I, Division 1 locations. The listing means that Streamlight’s alkaline-battery powered 2AA, 3C and 4AA flashlights comply with recognized safety standards and requirements in the United States for use in locations where the likelihood that a hazardous atmosphere is at its highest. The ProPolymers have been built to provide extreme durability at a more affordable price. For added safety, the ProPolymers offer a non-conductive housing, making them ideal for those who risk electric shock while working in high-risk areas — like PCOs — the company reports.
Software developer FormsFX.com has released WDI FX 4.0 that includes a "Hot Synch" conduit for its Palm NPCA-1 WDI inspection form. The hand-held program runs on any Palm OS device including Visor, Symbol, TRG Pro and the entire line of products from Palm Inc. Most state-mandated WDI forms are available as well as NPCA-1.
By providing field personnel with Palm OS devices loaded with the firm’s Palm NPCA-1 software, PCOs can eliminate typing inspection reports back at the office, the company says. WDI FX allows office personnel to dispatch inspection orders to a PCO’s Palm device. When inspections are completed the PCO inserts the device into the Palm Synchronization cradle and clicks one button. Inspection data is automatically downloaded to the WDI FX desktop program and an entire day of inspection data is converted to report format in less than one minute, the company reports.
The Insect Inn IV Fly Control System from Paraclipse Inc. traps more than 2,000 insects silently and hygienically in a wall-mounted unit — 10 times the capacity of conventional glueboard units, the company says. Its design makes the Insect Inn IV good for use in public areas such as restaurants and cafeterias. The Insect Inn IV offers PCOs an easily replaceable cartridge system with an automatic advancing design that exposes a fresh entrapment surface and attractants and an "end-of-cartridge" audible alarm to ensure prompt replacement. The Insect Inn IV uses an ultraviolet light system to help lure flies and other insects onto the entrapment surface.
