John Koval, owner of Smitter Pest Control, Grand Rapids, Mich., shared a video of raccoons at a local bar. Koval was contacted by the bar’s doorman after raccoon paws were witnessed coming through a register. He set live traps and ultimately removed six raccoons. Video: Purdue Pest Management Conference Highlights

In January, the Purdue University’s Pest Management Conference returned to campus, celebrating 90 years of advancing education, innovation and collaboration in the pest management industry. This year’s conference brought together industry leaders, researchers and practitioners for three days of expert presentations, panel discussions and networking centered on the theme “Tradition Meets Innovation.” PCT caught up with Pat Hottel, chair of the conference’s Industry Planning Committee, to learn more about the show and some its highlights. LIVE: Beyond the Pest Podcast

At this year’s Purdue Pest Management Conference, Dr. Stan Cope joined UPMTC Beyond the Pest podcast hosts Jennifer Sweeney-Ingram and Michael Thome for a special live taping. Cope discussed four key conducive conditions PMPs must identify: cool, dark, moist and out of the wind.
