PPMA released its artificial intelligence (AI) research findings for November 2020. PPMA used AI to closely examine engagement around spiders through a discovery exercise.
FAIRFAX, Va. - The Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), the public outreach arm of the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), has released its artificial intelligence (AI) research findings for November 2020.
Some of results included.
Engagement around the topic of spiders decreased 1% from October 2020 to November 2020, representing the smallest decrease out of any other core pest during that time.
Engagement around the topic of bed bugs decreased 3% from October 2020 to November 2020, representing the second smallest decrease out of any other core pest during that time.
Engagement around the topic of mosquitoes decreased 6% from October 2020 to November 2020, representing the third smallest decrease out of any other core pest during that time.
PPMA also used AI to closely examine spiders through a discovery exercise. In October, PPMA reported increased consumer interest in spiders.

JOHNSTONWN, Pa. - Plunkett’s Pest Control has acquired Johnstown Pest Control, based in Johnstown, Pa. The merger represents the union of two family-owned companies with a long history in the pest management industry.

Don and Trina Cortese have owned Johnstown Pest Control since 1980 and are now happily anticipating retirement. “With this merger,” said Trina Cortese, “we found a partner with comparable values - a partner focused on service excellence - who will continue to provide opportunities for our team as well as additional service offerings to our customers. We feel confident about leaving our life’s work in Plunkett’s hands."
Both Plunkett’s and Johnstown Pest Control are full-service residential and commercial pest management service providers.
