DuPont Professional Products

www.proproducts.dupont.com

DuPont Professional Products launched an Environmental Packaging Initiative that is intended to improve the environmental impact and usability of its product packaging while reducing potential exposure and waste, the company reports. The company’s new Terrene packaging, designed in response to the needs of its customers, is its first effort as part of the initiative. In a recent DuPont survey, the company said, many PMPs cited concerns about triple-rinsing prior to disposal and believe premeasured packaging allows them to better manage inventory.

According to DuPont, the Terrene packaging is ASTM Certified biodegradable and degrades in nine months to five years. It is also ASTM Certified compostable and leaves no toxic residues, the company says. Terrene utilizes water-based inks that are heavy-metal free, and features premeasured packs designed to reduce handling and exposure, prevent over- and under-use of product, and eliminate the need to triple-rinse prior to disposal.

DuPont Arilon insecticide, the first product to feature Terrene packaging, is a residual spray for the control of ants, cockroaches and other insect pest species on a variety of interior and exterior surfaces. The product can be used in and around both household and commercial locations with fewer treatment limitations, the company says.

Monzi

www.leafdefier.com

Monzi has received the Green Buildings Reviewed Product Seal from Green-Buildings.com for its Leaf Defier and Leaf Defier XL products. The seal was awarded after accredited Green Buildings professionals performed a benchmark analysis that determined Leaf Defier meets several criteria of accepted green building principles. In addition, the evaluation process found that by helping to reduce clogged gutters, reducing or eliminating standing water and improving water flow through the gutter system, Leaf Defier may provide a line of defense against foundation failure and other issues that may be caused by moisture problems in buildings.

Other findings revealed that the product may reduce building maintenance compared with non-treated gutters include eliminating moisture penetration, leaks and blockages; and reducing storm water runoff. The Leaf Defier family of products is available to builders, contractors and pest control operators through Monzi’s nationwide network of dealers and distributors.

Prolitec

www.prolitec.com

Avian Plus, a new bird-control system from Prolitec, is designed to repel and keep birds out of high-ceilinged enclosed spaces such as warehouses, big-box stores and airplane hangars using natural aromas. The system is available in the U.S. from Bird-B-Gone. Avian Plus uses a proprietary formulation of fragrance and flavor ingredients engineered to be pleasant for humans but unpleasant for birds. Prolitec’s patented "always on" micro-droplet delivery systems are designed to ensure continuous bird control by maintaining a minute concentration of the fragrance in the rafters and other locations frequented by pest birds. According to the manufacturer, because this bird-control system is always on, the birds don’t come back.

The company’s delivery systems employ patented micro-droplet technology. Avian Plus features an on-board computer that enables users to control the scent-effect intensity and daily start and stop times. The company offers wall-mounted, HVAC-integrated or freestanding Air/Q systems that disperse the scent in spaces as small as a single room and as large as a whole building. Avian Plus can be used in conjunction with modified units that include accelerators designed to direct the scent formulation up into the rafters.
