Residex continues to actively support, raise donations and awareness for the Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans in 2010. The 2009 goal of $10,000, which was successfully achieved, has increased to $20,000 for 2010.
The Achilles FREEDOM TEAM of Wounded Veterans introduces recently wounded soldiers from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to running. Founded in 2004, the program provides motivation, training, and the opportunity to rebuild strength and endurance while healing through distance running events. These men and women have made tremendous sacrifices on our behalf and deserve the opportunity to continue to lead fulfilling lives.
While Residex’s goal was attained in 2009, there are still many Veterans in need of continued assistance. Residex’s encourages others to become involved:
• Join Residex for the Achilles Hope & Possibility 5-miler, Sunday, June 27, 8:30 a.m. Central Park, NYC: This event brings together athletes with disabilities and able-bodied athletes in a celebration of running
• Purchase a copy of the book Core Convictions – A Service Legacy. The book, written by Residex’s Chris Donaghy, honors Roland Rhodes and American war veterans.
All proceeds from the book will be donated to Achilles Freedom Team of Wounded Veterans. To purchase your copy visit residex.com.
