LEHI, Utah - Slingshot has expanded its executive leadership team with the appointments of Jon Soldan as president and chief operating officer and Steve Books as the company’s chief technology officer.
Slingshot provides home services providers, such as pest control and lawncare companies, with a turnkey, 24/7 omni-channel call center solution that engages leads, increases close rates, and improves overall customer experience. Soldan and Books will drive Slingshot’s next phase of growth after a record 2019 in which the company grew revenue by 54%, increased headcount to more than 250 employees, and closed a $2.4 million seed round led by RET Ventures.
“Slingshot’s unique business model helped the company achieve explosive growth and we’re ready to take the company to the next level,” said Taylor Olson, chief executive officer, Slingshot. “Jon and Steve will be essential to our continued success as we scale operations, expand into new verticals, strategically invest in R&D, and solidify our leadership position within the $400 billion home services provider market.”
Soldan joins Slingshot from Oracle, where he served as group vice president, North America Cloud Application Delivery. In this role, Soldan oversaw consulting delivery and capability development across ERP and HCM while leading a global team of more than 800 to deliver world-class customer experiences in the cloud. Prior to that position, he was executive vice president of operations at HealthEquity and was also chief operating officer at Entrata.
“Taylor and the team have done an incredible job building a company that home service providers love, while also building a strong foundation for high-growth,” said Jon Soldan, president and chief operating officer, Slingshot. “The organization has a fantastic culture full of passionate people looking to do something special, and I look forward to inspiring our employees so Slingshot can capitalize on its market opportunity.”
Books brings over 15 years of software engineering and management experience to the company and will deliver senior leadership to Slingshot’s rapidly-growing developer team. Previously, Books co-founded and served as CTO for Capshare, a web-based equity and cap table management solution for entrepreneurs, investors, board members, lawyers, and others, that was acquired by Morgan Stanley. He also co-founded TrackMyDrive, a mobile and web-based software solution for tracking business mileage.
“Slingshot is already defining a new path in the home services market and is positioned for long-term growth,” said Steve Books, chief technology officer, Slingshot. “I’m thrilled to help the company’s already impressive technology evolve and deliver significant value for our customers.”
