WASHINGTON – The U.S. Census Bureau announced that the 2020 Census shows the resident population of the United States on April 1, 2020, was 331,449,281.
The U.S. resident population represents the total number of people living in the 50 states and the District of Columbia. The resident population increased by 22,703,743 or 7.4% from 308,745,538 in 2010.
As expected, the South and West saw the biggest population growth between 2010-2020. The 2020 Census shows that the U.S. population in southern states grew from roughly 114.6 million in 2010 to 126.3 million, an increase of nearly 12 million residents. The West grew by 6.6 million to 78.6 million residents in 2020.
In addition to these newly released statistics, today Secretary Raimondo delivered to President Biden to he population counts to be used for apportioning the seats in the U.S. House of Representatives.
• The remaining states’ number of seats will not change based on the 2020 Census.
Other facts and figures from the Census included:
• Puerto Rico's resident population was 3,285,874, down 11.8% from 3,725,789 in the 2010 Census.

PASADENA, Texas - Control Solutions Inc (CSI) announced that Heather Erskine has been promoted to technical services manager.
Erskine joined CSI in 2017, serving as project manager on the Product Development Team, where she advanced her skills and experience. As a project manager, she was acutely involved in a wide variety of product stages and milestones from concept to commercialization, including manufacturing, formulation, and regulatory. She supported CSI’s new product development processes, helping to ensure the team achieved superior product launches.
Erskine came on board after graduating from the University of Florida, where she earned her bachelors and masters degrees in entomology with a specialization in urban pest management. During her time as a student, she conducted research on critical pests of our industry, including bed bugs, cockroaches, and mosquitoes. Erskine also brings a unique background and pest management experience earned while working on her family-owned golf course and cow-calf operation in Florida.
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — The early days of the pandemic had a number of ramifications for the pest control industry in 2020, with one of the most notable being the cancellation of the UPFDA Spring Conference, an annual event attended by the industry’s product manufacturers, formulators and distributors.
Following the day’s activities, Executive Director Andrea Coron thanked members “for making the UPFDA Spring Conference a great success. We hope you all enjoyed the awesome line-up of presentations and some good networking time during the breakout sessions.”
