SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. — Wil-Kil Pest Control announced that Quality & Technical Training Director Shane McCoy was recently certified as a Board Certified Entomologist (BCE) by the Entomological Society of America. McCoy is the eighth BCE in the state of Wisconsin, and the second at Wil-Kil.
“We are thrilled that Shane has reached his goal of becoming a BCE,” said J. Kevin Jeffrey, general manager of Wil-Kil Pest Control. “This accomplishment signifies his dedication to the pest management industry and his commitment to providing a superior technical training program for Wil-Kil’s technicians.”
Previously designated as an Associate Certified Entomologist (ACE), McCoy has nearly 25 years of experience in the pest management industry and almost 2,000 hours of classroom and field training experience. In addition, McCoy is a member of the National Pest Management Association’s Pest Vets committee and is a past chair of the Copesan Technical Committee.
To achieve Board Certified Entomologist (BCE) status, McCoy was required to have a master’s degree in entomology (or a related field), two years of experience in the field following the degree, a current CV, two letters of reference, the willingness to abide by the BCE Code of Ethics and pass two exams.
