Spring's in full swing! With warmer and wetter climates approaching in the spring and summer months, NPMA's Public Health Pest Index and Bug Barometer warns of increased pressure from mosquitoes, ticks, cockroaches and rodents.
The Professional Pest Management Alliance (PPMA), serving as the consumer marketing arm of the National Pest Management Association, released the Public Health Pest Index, its bi-annual pest forecast previously known as Vector Sectors, and Bug Barometer, a look at what Americans can expect from pest populations in their regions across the U.S.
PCT sat down with PPMA Executive Director Jim Fredericks as he shared more on the findings in this year’s pest forecast, how weather patterns play a role in increased pest pressures and ways PMPs can use these data-driven tools when communicating with customers on disease-spreading pests and public health.
