Modern Exterminating Celebrates 70th Anniversary

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Modern Exterminating, a family-owned pest control business, celebrated a milestone anniversary of 70 years in business and revealed a new logo to commemorate the event.

Seventy years ago, George and Katherine Matthews, laid the foundation of the company with hard work, honesty and a belief in treating people right, said Glenn Matthews, third generation owner of the company.

"My father, George G. Matthews, Jr., carried that torch faithfully for more than sixty years, helping Modern Exterminating grow," Matthews said. "In more recent years, I have been blessed to have my wife, Melanie Matthews, by my side. Her support, wisdom, and steady hand these past six years have been invaluable in carrying our family’s legacy forward."

The company's new logo was revealed during 70th celebration with employees on Oct. 3.
