$14,965 Raised for UCR’s Urban Entomology Research Fund

Target Specialty Products and Jenkins Athens raise $14,965 for UCR’s Urban Entomology Research Fund.

Santa Fe Springs, Calif. – More than 200 pest management professionals came out for the silent auction and hospitality held in conjunction with the Pest Control Operators of California’s 64th annual Convention in Coronado, Calif. Jenkins Athens and Target Specialty Products hosted the event on Friday, June 23, at the Loews Coronado Bay Resort. Ron Suber, general manager of Orange County Pest Control, was the emcee for the evening.

Pest management professionals and manufacturer representatives donated more than 80 items to this year’s auction. The annual event raised $14,965 for the University of California Riverside’s Endowed Research Fund. 

“We are pleased to report the auction raised $5,000 over last year.  We appreciate the efforts of everyone who had a hand in making this event a success,” stated Target President Lon Records. 

At the auction’s close, Don Reierson, staff research associate for UCR’s Department of Entomology, thanked the industry for its continued support and talked about the direction of current university research.

Target Specialty Products is a wholesale distributor of specialty agricultural chemicals, fertilizers, application equipment, service and education. Jenkins Athens designs, manages and administers insurance programs for business, associations and affinity groups, educational institutions, non-profits and individuals.
