An industry veteran of 47 years, Hardy is often referred to as Orkin’s “Answer Man.” He’s available 24/7 to Orkin employees, and he spends many of his off hours “tinkering” with new products and developing better control techniques. Perhaps that’s why he’s considered a valued resource not only by the thousands of Orkin employees throughout the country, but also by countless other technicians, corporate leaders and manufacturer representatives, all who call on Hardy for his trusted advice, valuable opinions and time-tested wisdom.
Hardy fields calls from all over the country – and not just from Orkin personnel. People he may have trained but have since moved on to other companies rely on Hardy to help them with questions they may have – especially in the complex area of termite control. His years at Orkin represent the most dynamic this industry has ever faced, especially in the area of termite control, one of Hardy’s specialties. He’s been an expert witness in many trials and spoken at numerous industry events about the country’s most destructive pest. Hardy has developed countless new techniques and products for the pest control market.
In accepting the award, Hardy thanked his wife Judy for her support and said he has no plans of slowing down. “Don’t forget to call me if I can help,” he said.
