Gerry Wegner, staff entomologist and technical director of Columbus, Ohio-based Varment Guard Environmental Services, wrote the September PCT feature “Wasp Watch.” Wegner also has written several technical articles for Copesan Services. For the following podcast, PCT spoke with Wegner about a variety of stinging insect-related topics, including how yellow jacket and honeybee populations in his area have rebounded. Additionally, Wegner is the current president of Pi Chi Omega, the pest control industry’s national fraternity, and Wegner discussed a number of Pi Chi Omega’s ongoing initiatives.
