VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — A-Active Termite & Pest Control was recognized as the Small Business of the Year by the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce. The Hampton Roads region includes Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk and Virginia Beach.
A-Active was chosen based on its financial performance, business history, staff training, motivation, community involvement, business plan, growth, and customer service and satisfaction. Along with being named the Small Business of the Year in Virginia Beach, the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce along with the Small Business Development Center of Hampton Roads selected A-Active as a finalist to represent the region in the Virginia Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Contest.
An article in the Hampton Roads Business Journal noted that since Kevin Kordek purchased the company in 1995 it has undergone "a metamorphosis - from a relatively modest six-figure operation to a company worth nearly $4 million." (Click here to read the entire story.)
“We are truly honored and humbled to represent Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads as a great small business,” said Kordek. “Hampton Roads has a vibrant economy and we are proud to play an active part by adding jobs and maintaining economic growth.”
