Austin, Texas-based ABC Home and Commercial Services donated a $7,000 bed bug removal job to Brenda Conley-Batts, whose duplex was infested. According to the Statesmen, Conley-Batts has dedicated her life to helping others. She is part of the Statesman’s Season for Caring program, which helps 11 featured families and hundreds like them through local nonprofit agencies. She was nominated by Hospice Austin, which provides end-of-life care. She currently suffers from non-Hodgkin lymphoma and is blind.
According to the article, when Bobby Jenkins, owner of ABC Home and Commercial Services, heard about Conley-Batts and her ordeal, he offered his business’ services for free. The job would’ve cost Conley-Batts about $7,000.
