NORWALK, Conn. — William Grey, director of operations, ABC Exterminating, Norwalk, Conn., was announced as the winner of the 2013 Actisol Sweepstakes, which ran throughout September and October on PCT Online.
Grey’s name was randomly drawn from a pool of entrants. He wins an Actisol Compact Unit, a system that mixes a low volume of insecticide with a high volume of air to provide effective elimination of insects in deep harborage environments.
A member of ABC for 25 years, Grey oversees the day-to-day operations of the company. He said ABC has previously used Actisol sprayers in commercial accounts. ABC is a small, family-owned business (6 technicians, 2 office workers) owned by Emmett Lee, Jr., servicing all of Fairfield County and parts of New Haven and Litchfield counties. “We try to cater to the customer and offer a plan that fits their need, as opposed to signing them up for a multi-service program they may not need,” Grey said.
Grey said he likes the variety of jobs and people he encounters working in pest control. “You see all walks of life, from the poorest of homes to $50 million homes in the same day.”
