FAIRFAX, Va. — Academy 2021, the annual summer conference hosted by the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), will be held on July 13-15 at the Westin La Paloma Resort & Spa in Tucson, Ariz.
NPMA’s Leadership Networking Community (LNC), the group that hosts Academy, has a mission to cultivate professional development and networking opportunities throughout the year. NPMA’s LNC and premier sponsor, Corteva Agriscience, look forward to reuniting in person at Academy to engage past participants and new pest management professionals who have not had the opportunity to join this dynamic event in the past. Academy is a unique opportunity designed to advance the professional and business development of the industry’s current and emerging leaders in a hands-on, interactive environment.
“The energy and team spirit at Academy is contagious, and after a year of virtual events, we are excited to host Academy face-to-face once again,” said Dominique Stumpf, NPMA CEO. “Each year, through insightful presentations, teambuilding events, and networking, attendees return from Academy refreshed and refocused to lead their companies to achieve its goals.”
The program this year features two motivating keynote sessions that will leave attendees with insider tips on how to build trust using non-verbal success strategies and ways to adjust their leadership style to stress less and accomplish more. Attendees will be placed on teams where they will engage in friendly competition through a mix of physical and mental team tasks in the infamous Academy Olympics. In addition, participants will have many opportunities for collaboration and networking through small group interactions in Academy Learning Labs and, new this year, Academy Brain Dates. Brain Dates are open to all attendees and will give participants a chance to offer advice and mentorship to their peers on specific areas of interest.
