VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Accel Pest Control, Virginia Beach, Va., announced that technicians Mike Reardon, Mike VanSyoc, and Zach Linsangan have earned the Virginia Pest Management Association (VPMA) Master Technician Certification. These professionals have demonstrated an exceptional commitment to pest management, guided by Dr. Dini Miller, professor of entomology at Virginia Tech.
The VPMA Master Technician Certification program plays a pivotal role in Accel Pest Control's commitment to nurturing its employees and ensuring the delivery of the highest level of service to its valued customers, the company reports. These courses provide technicians with comprehensive knowledge and hands-on training in pest biology, identification, treatment methods, product utilization, and best practices for a variety of pest groups.
Accel Pest Control utilizes these courses extensively in its Technician Career Development program, where new hire technicians begin as Apprentice Techs and progress through Tech I, II, and III levels. These courses serve as not only a source of invaluable knowledge but also a requirement for advancement within the company, enabling technicians to qualify for Lead Technician and Service Manager positions.
The Master Technician Series is comprised of eight workshops that delve into major pest groups, including ants, bed bugs, blood-feeding arthropods, termites, occasional invaders, cockroaches, rodents, and pest flies. Each workshop is designed to provide technicians with the specialized expertise needed to address the unique challenges posed by these pests effectively.
Upon the successful completion of each workshop, participants receive a certificate designating them as a VPMA Master in the specific pest group they have studied. To attain the title of "Master Technician," a technician must master four of these pest groups. This recognition is presented during the final workshop, highlighting their exemplary expertise and unwavering commitment to the field of pest control.
