BELLFLOWER, Calif. — Admiral Pest Control, a third-generation family-owned pest control company, serving Los Angeles and Orange County, recently was profiled in the Press-Telegram. Earlier this month, Admiral was honored for its longevity in the community by the city of Bellflower. The company received its longevity award from the mayor of Bellflower during a special ceremony.

Admiral was started in 1947 by Walter Lance and his wife Lora in their home. In 1950, the business was moved to its current location at 9434 Artesia Blvd. in Bellflower.

According to the company’s Web site, Admiral is the oldest pest control company in Bellflower with the same ownership. In 1956 Earl Jones came to work for his soon-to-be father-in-law Walter Lance, and has been there ever since. Admiral has been a member of the Bellflower Chamber of Commerce for more than 40 years. Walter Lance is a past president of the Chamber, past president of the National Pest Control Association. Earl and his two sons Jeff and Brian have all served as directors on the Bellflower Chamber of Commerce.

Admiral Pest Control serves L.A. and Orange county from its fleet of over thirty radio dispatched vehicles. The company handles all types of pest control, from termite fumigation, general insect control, gophers as well as nuisance birds.
