A combined heritage of more than 40 years in integrated pest management technologies will provide the new organization with numerous synergies, including expanded research and technology capabilities, improved market coverage and a wider product offering for their customers. Managed from their existing sites, AgriSense will provide a European manufacturing and sales and marketing base for Suterra products and Suterra, in turn, will expand their offering into the Americas to include AgriSense products.
The unified business activities will create one of the largest global companies based on pheromone technologies with an extensive range of traps and monitoring products under the BioLure®, Scenturion® and AgriSense® trade names. Pheromone-based pest control brands include brands such as Selibate®, Frustrate®, Checkmate® and Puffer®. With a portfolio of innovative products still in development, including attract and kill capabilities, the future is extremely attractive for the new enterprise.
Key to the creation of the organization will be ensuring continuity of business for both parties, as they work to bring the two companies together. AgriSense and Suterra will both retain their names and identities, as entities with strong histories and international reputations and add each company’s product lines to their own, as they move forward around the world. Strategically, the group will not only have significant expertise in integrated crop management in agriculture and horticultural, but through the strengths of AgriSense, it will also have increased potential to develop and enlarge its capabilities in industrial or professional pest control and consumer home and garden markets.
Steven R. Hartmeier, president of Suterra LLC, said, “AgriSense is very important for the future of Suterra in our aim to develop a strong platform from which to roll out new innovative products into Europe and beyond.”
In addition, Owen Jones, director of Technology and founder of AgriSense-BCS Ltd. adds, “We are excited to join forces with Suterra, a move which will create a truly dominant force in the global pheromone industry.”
