Aiken Pest Control Honored by Local Chamber of Commerce

AIKEN, S.C. — The Aiken, S.C.  Chamber of Commerce has named Aiken Pest Control its 2016 Small Business of the Year.  The award-winning company was established in 1967 and is entering its 50th year of service to the community.  Independently owned by the Heath family of Aiken, it provides pest control and extermination needs to residents and business owners throughout the Central Savannah River Area (CSRA) (known as the midlands  of South Carolina), which includes Aiken, Lexington, North Augusta, Batesburg/Leesville, Edgefield and Barnwell.

“It is a true honor to be recognized as the small business of the year in our community,” said Scott Heath, Aiken Pest Control's co-owner.  “This award is the direct result of the dedication of our entire team to providing excellent customer service and the appreciation that our customers have for our efforts.” 

Aiken Pest Control currently has 60 team members, including its very first employee, Ronnie Golding, who was hired in 1968 and is still working part time there today.  Established by Charles and Marie Heath in 1967, the company is now co-owned and managed by two of the Heath’s sons, Scott and Craig, who joined the business in the mid-1990’s after college.  

In addition to the Chamber award, Aiken Pest Control was recognized in 2016 by the nationally-known Angie's List for providing excellent customer service.  A multiple recipient of the “Angie’s List Super Service Award” over the years, Aiken Pest Control is one of only about 5 percent of all the companies rated on Angie’s List to receive this prestigious annual award.

Aiken Pest Control is also a Quality Pro Approved company and has an A+ accreditation from The Better Business Bureau.

“Some of our customers have even been with us for over 40 years,” said Craig Heath, co-owner of Aiken Pest Control.  “When they take time to report their positive experiences with our company, we know we're doing our jobs right.  None of these awards would be possible without the support and commendations of the people our team serves everyday.”
