Alpha Ecological Co-Sponsored Youth Participating in Fair Program

Alpha Ecological Pest Control and Gro Outdoor Living co-sponsored a soon-to-be high school senior, Ali Serface, in the Junior Live Auction at the Clark County Fair, Aug. 9, 2014.

VANCOUVER, Wash. — Alpha Ecological Pest Control and Gro Outdoor Living co-sponsored a soon-to-be high school senior, Ali Serface, in the Junior Live Auction at the Clark County Fair, Aug. 9, 2014.

Alpha Ecological is committed to helping local communities and they are a strong proponent of children’s education. By helping to purchase the steer, Amos, Alpha Ecological is assisting Ali in completion of her senior project. Helping her become successful not only in school, but also as part of the Youth Efforts Against Hunger initiative- formed by the Junior Live Auction helping FFA and 4-H programs across Clark County.

Alpha Ecological Executive Vice President aScott Sneer, had this to say about why he wanted to sponsor Ali and be involved in this project. “Alpha Ecological Pest Control is proud to team up with Ali to help feed hungry children in Clark County. Ali is the epitome of what we want in our future leaders because of her heart for the local community.”

Ali has been showing cows for years and has been an active member of the Youth Efforts Against Hunger program. In the past Ali has raised cattle and utilized the profits from the JLA to help fund her savings college tuition, purchase a car, and other fun activities. Now, Ali is going to donate all of the proceeds that she makes off of her steer, Amos, to YEAH (Youth Efforts Against Hunger).

Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler was also intrigued to hear about Ali’s project and is thanking Ali for her hard work by sending her a Certificate of Special Recognition- recognizing outstanding and invaluable service to the community.

According to the Clark County Food Bank, over 10,000 boxes of food are distributed in order to feed about 33,000 people in Clark County every month. 40% of the people in need of the Clark County Food Bank are children. The meat from Ali’s cow will be enough for 891 meals if he reaches 1,350 pounds. Ali’s goal weight for Amos is 1,400 pounds.
