American Pest Control Uses PCT for Training Exercise at Quarterly Meeting

Athens, Ga.-based American Pest Control created challenges and activities for its employees using past copies of PCT.

ATHENS, Ga – Family-owned American Pest Control has been reading and utilizing PCT magazine for most of their 50 years in business. A library of hundreds of copies, catalogued by topic, sits in their training room. With every employee from technicians to accounting to customer service receiving the magazine at home every month, American Pest Control utilizes PCT as a training resource in many of their meetings. In October 2021, they took this to a new level.

“We wanted to bring PCT to life at our October quarterly meeting,” said CEO Laurie Higginbotham, “So, we created 12 months of PCT magazine covers on posterboard, laid out dozens of issues, and created challenges and activities for everyone to use the old issues to find information.”

The entire company participated in the PCT driven training exercise. Technicians and CSRs alike found new and interesting things in the magazines and utilized what they found to spark small group discussions.

Technical Trainer Tim Culpepper had this to say about PCT magazine, “PCT has been an invaluable resource for us as long as I can remember. It is always relevant and up to date on biology, technology, customer service and sales. We incorporate PCT in our onboarding and training consistently and encourage our team to take advantage of the many resources in the magazine.”

American Pest Control will continue to use both the print and digital version of PCT as a resource for education and development.
