American Pest Solutions Celebrates 100 Years in Business

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - American Pest Solutions, a family-owned business based in Springfield, Mass., is celebrating 100 years in business this year. 

Robert Russell, president of American Pest Solutions, credits establishing a work environment where everyone can succeed as one of the reasons for the firm's longevity. "We make it our goal to hire quality individuals and value our employees, which ultimately benefits our extended family - our customers."

At the company's founding in 1913, Abraham Russell's core values of hard work, vision and top-notch customer service remain at the core of the company today, the firm said. "My grandfather Abraham manufactured and packaged his own roach powder," said Jim Russel, the company's third-generation president. "Back then, our service vehicle was horse and wagon. Looking back, it was spray and go for pests without concern for the environment."

After 100 years, the pest management industry has embraced more environmentally-friendly solutions, Russell said. Today, Robert russel approaches pests more responsibly. "At American Pest Solutions, we understand the sanctity and safety of the home environment," he said. "It is our deep responsibility to develop a pest management strategy that both prevents the unwanted pests and is also good for the family, pets and the environment."
