NORTHBROOK, Ill. — Anderson Pest Solutions hosted its 33rd Annual Pest Solutions Seminar May 1, at the Hilton Allgauer’s Restaurant in Northbrook, Il. This year’s seminar addressed current issues and trends in pest elimination such as the “Green” revolution, rodent indices, pest-proofing, termites, small flies, and challenges in mulit-unit housing.

Featured speakers included Austin Frishman, Bobby Corrigan, and Gary Braness.  This seminar was established by Charles O’Hara, Sr., in 1976, with the goal of increasing cooperation between health officials and the pest management industry and providing a technical resource for health departments. Frishman has spoken at each seminar since that time and has been an instrumental part in uniting health officials and pest management professionals.

This was Frishman’s last speaking engagement with Anderson in the Chicago area. In appreciation of his contribution to Anderson and the industry, Anderson Pest Solutions donated $5,000 to the Austin M. Frishman Scholarship Fund at Purdue University. This scholarship supports students interested in urban and industrial entomology.
