According to MTV.com, Edgar Wright's long-gestating adaptation of "Ant-Man" could finally begin production at the end of this year.
"Edgar was in L.A. last week," Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige told Superhero Hype. "We sat down, and we started working on a calendar of when to get him back into it once he finishes promoting 'Scott Pilgrim,' so I think towards the end of this year, early next year we'd start looking at early prep for that, but certainly for a release date after 'The Avengers.'"
Wright was first attached to direct "Ant-Man" back in 2006. However, the film has since gone through a lengthy development process.
The Internet Movie Database provides the following plot description for "Ant-Man": Biochemist Dr. Hank Pym uses his latest discovery, a group of subatomic particles, to create a size-altering formula. Though his first self-test goes awry, he develops an instrument that helps him communicate with and control insects.
