Firefighters determined that an explosion in a New Jersey apartment followed an attempt to wipe out a cockroach infestation, NBC New York reported.
The April 13 explosion happened after an occupant was spraying insecticide, got a headache and opened a window, Asbury Park Fire Department spokesman Garrett Giberson told the Asbury Park Press.
The explosion sent two adults and a child to a hospital, NBC New York reported.
