Arrow Exterminators Launches New Sustainability Initiative

The program is a company-wide commitment to provide homes and businesses property protection using the most effective and environmentally-responsible methods available.

ATLANTA — Arrow Exterminators has announced the launch of its new sustainability initiative — the STEPS Total Protection System. Short for Sustainability Through Environmental Practices and Solutions, STEPS is a company-wide commitment to provide homes and businesses property protection using the most effective and environmentally-responsible methods available.

“STEPS is a testament to our company culture and commitment to reducing our overall environmental footprint while focusing on the most effective methods of pest control to serve our customers,” said Emily Thomas, Arrow’s president and chief operating officer. “We believe that a thriving, healthy planet starts with thriving, healthy communities. This initiative has the potential to transform our industry, to go beyond pest control, and to contribute to creating a healthier planet and communities.”

STEPS is a straightforward, three-step process that utilizes Integrated Pest Management:

  1. Fully Inspect home and property to pinpoint pest issues
  2. Identify not only the pest, but the true cause of the problem
  3. Treat in the most environmentally responsible way to alleviate current issues and help prevent any future recurrence

“For over a year, Arrow has been conceptualizing ways to improve our operations to pursue sustainable development and to meet the needs and expectations of our customers and employees without compromising the ability of future generations," said Cindy Mannes, Arrow’s chief marketing and strategy officer.

STEPS has been incorporated into every aspect of Arrow’s services, and will immediately be introduced to Arrow’s customer base.

To fulfill Arrow’s commitment to sustainability, the company is evaluating every facet of how it does business and making adjustments to operate in a sustainable manner wherever possible, such as recycling, reduction of paper usage, office energy conservation and efficient fleet management. To build on the momentum created around the sustainability movement, Arrow has instituted “Sustainability Captains” in each service center so employees will have ownership of the program and contribute to its overall success.
