CHARLESTON, S.C. – On March 12, Atlantic Pest and Termite Management, joined the Lowcountry Land Trust and other sponsors for its Annual Sporting Clay Shoot held at Brosnan Forest. Renowned as an ecological treasure, it is habitat for the largest U.S. population of endangered redcockaded woodpeckers on private land and one of the country's largest remaining stands of longleaf pines. In 2008, Norfolk Southern granted a conservation easement on 12,488 acres of the Forest to the Lowcountry Open Land Trust, ensuring the land will be protected permanently from development making it the largest gift of conservation in South Carolina history. Experienced and novice shooters were invited to attend a fun day of shooting, fundraising and fellowship.
“Atlantic Pest and Termite Management, Inc. is proud to participate in a sponsorship to bring awareness to the importance of land conversation,” said Ted Ford, President of Atlantic Pest and Termite Management. “We know that community collaboration can help us collectively safeguard these habitats for years to come.”
