WESTBURY, N.Y. — Spectronics Corporation has introduced the B-260, a powerful, battery-operated, long-wave UV lamp used to inspect rodent contamination on grains, feed, seeds, and other crops used for human and animal consumption.
To look for signs of rodent activity, simply shine the lightweight, portable B-260 UV lamp on the area to be inspected to detect the appearance of rodent hair and urine. Their hair fluoresces blue-white and urine fluoresces blue-white to yellow-white. Since rodents usually urinate while in motion, the droplet pattern is easily detectable by its bright glow under the ultraviolet light.
This economical unit is equipped with a 6-volt rechargeable battery, an AC charger and a charging cord. Its comfortable, contoured carrying handle provides easy reach to the power switch and makes it effortless to carry from place to place. Made of a durable, high-impact plastic housing, the lamp features a stainless-steel tube guard that protects against accidental breakage.
