BASF Announces Second Annual Termidor All-Star Technician Program

BASF is accepting nominations for the 2007 Termidor All-Star Technician program, which celebrates the dedication, skill and expertise of the nation’s top termite technicians.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Beginning today, BASF will accept nominations for the 2007 Termidor termiticide-insecticide All-Star Technician program, which celebrates the dedication, skill and expertise of the nation’s top termite technicians.

“After a successful program launch in 2006, BASF is looking forward to this year’s pool of nominations,” said Karl J. Kisner, senior marketing manager, BASF. “We truly enjoy meeting the pros who know that even a stellar product like Termidor is just part of the solution for protecting homes against termite damage; the other integral part are the hardworking men and women who work on the front lines of the pest control industry everyday.“

In July, BASF will take 16 winners on an all-expense-paid trip to San Francisco, where they will be honored at an awards ceremony and attend the 2007 Major League Baseball All-Star Game. Select technicians will also be featured online and in Termidor marketing efforts throughout the year.

BASF recognized the invaluable role that technicians play in the pest management industry when it launched the Termidor All-Star Technician program in 2006. As a part of the BASF “Growing Beyond the Basics” program, last year’s winners were treated to a three-day event in Pittsburgh where they were honored at an awards ceremony, enjoyed a surprise luncheon with legendary baseball catcher and Hall of Fame member Johnny Bench, and attended the 2006 Major League Baseball All-Star Game and FanFest at PNC Park.

Companies can nominate their Termidor All-Star Technicians through a web-based entry form – found online at http://www.pestcontrolfacts.com/allstar - or by sending in a completed hard-copy entry form, available from BASF sales specialists or by downloading a version online.

Those wishing to nominate a technician are asked to describe in 500 words or less how the nominee exhibits three key characteristics: knowledge of termite biology and proper termite defense products and techniques; value to the pest management company in terms of the technician's role in business development, team morale, or other contributions to the company; and exemplary service to their customers.
