NEW BERLIN, Wis. – If Wheaties can call itself "The Breakfast of Champions," then Batzner Pest Management can call itself "The Pest Management Company of Champions." That’s because the company has recently earned several prestigious national and local recognitions.
For the seventh year in a row, Batzner was named one of the "Top 100" pest control companies in the U.S. by Pest Control Technology magazine. Batzner achieved that distinction by generating revenues of almost $7 million in 2008. To date, revenues for 2009 have grown by approximately six percent.
The Batzner organization placed in the "Top Ten" small businesses of Waukesha County for the first time. The Waukesha County Chamber; BizTimes Milwaukee, a local business magazine; and an independent panel of judges evaluated businesses in the county and named Batzner as one of the best companies in Waukesha County. Their criteria included customer focus, financial growth, employee growth and relations, and community involvement.
Batzner was recently honored with the International IPM (Integrated Pest Management) Award by the IPM Institute of North America. The award recognizes Batzner’s efforts to reduce potential risks to human health and our environment.
Last year Batzner earned a "QualityPro" designation by the National Pest Management Association. As a QualityPro-approved company, Batzner Pest Management is among a growing number of pest control firms around the country that took steps to ensure a higher level of business conduct and customer service. The designation, like the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval, offers consumers solid proof of the thoroughness and quality of a pest control company’s business practices.
And last year, the company was named as one of the "Best Places to Work in Southeastern Wisconsin."
Jerry Batzner, company president, is both "gratified and enthused" that his employees have worked hard to help the company achieve its "championship" status. "We appreciate the recognition we receive because it lets us know we are doing our job," he says.
The 62-year-old company, which employs approximately 75 people, specializes in the Balanced as Nature — B.A.N. System™, an integrated pest management service. With service centers in New Berlin, Oshkosh, Fond du Lac, Racine and Madison, the Batzner organization’s size has grown seven-fold since 1990.
Approximately 70 percent of Batzner’s business is commercial and the balance residential. In addition to general pest control services, the company offers bird and nuisance wildlife control, as well as add-on services, such as bioremediation (drain cleaning) and building repairs.
"We focus on retaining our existing customers and steadily growing each service center by offering quality service delivered consistently," says Batzner. "And we focus on hiring quality employees and providing them the support they need to perform quality service."
