RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Bayer Environmental Science has announced that Drione, a desiccant dust combined with synergized pyrethrins, is now available and in good supply. A worldwide shortage of pyrethrum, a key ingredient in Drione, has had limited availability in recent years. Bayer, however, has been able to secure enough material to meet demand for the remainder of 2011.
Approved for use in residences, commercial food handling establishments, food plants and granaries, Drione provides fast control, excellent flushing action and remains effective for up to six months. Drione features synergized natural pyrethrins plus amorphous silica gel that erodes the insect cuticle, causing the pest to die from dehydration.
“We’re thrilled to announce that Drione is back,” says Gordon Morrison, market manager for Bayer Environmental Science. “It’s effective, fast-acting and has a broad label that includes mattress applications for control of bed bugs, as it is non-staining and relatively odorless.”
