Bayer Encourages Apartment Management to Hire Professionals for Bed Bug Work

Bayer ES is educating members of the National Apartment Association (NAA) on the benefits of utilizing pest management professionals when dealing with the growing bed bug problem.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – Bayer ES is educating members of the National Apartment Association (NAA) on the benefits of utilizing pest management professionals (PMPs) when dealing with the growing bed bug problem. The company recently published the article, “Don’t Let the Bedbugs Bite,” which appeared in the January issue of NAA’s UNITS magazine.

The feature urges building management to work with professionals when faced with an infestation. In addition, the piece identifies biological and behavioral characteristics of bed bugs and discusses the problems bedbugs can cause in this environment including financial loss from lawsuits, lost residents and long-term damage to a community’s reputation.

“Bed bugs are hitchiking around the country and apartment industry professionals need to be aware and understand how to best work with PMPs to solve this problem,” says Michael Newhouse, GIC Market Manager at Bayer ES. “In addition to offering products such as SuspendÒ for bedbug control, we are committed to educating our customers’ customers on the importance of relying on a professional to control the resurgence of this pest; it’s part of the ‘Backed By Bayer’ promise.”
