RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — Bayer Environmental Science, along with the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), announced today the judging panel for the second Bayer Environmental Science “Young Scientist of the Year” contest. The panel of industry and university leaders includes:
• Dr. Nick Hamon, Director of Development and Technical Services, Bayer Environmental Science
• Gregory J. Baumann, Vice President, NPMA
• Robert Baker, Technical Director, Clark Pest Control
• Dr. Roger Gold, Professor of Entomology, Texas A&M University
• Dr. Philip G. Koehler, Professor of Entomology, University of Florida
• Frank Meek, Technical Director, Orkin
• Mark Sheperdigian, Vice President of Technical Services, Rose Pest Solutions
The judges will review all contest submissions, narrowing the field to three finalists and selecting one individual as the “Young Scientist of the Year.” The three finalists will present their research at PestWorld 2006 in Lake Grapevine, TX in October, where the “Young Scientist of the Year” will be announced.
“Bayer is proud to support the innovative research being done at the university level, and we are excited to see what critical areas these talented individuals address in an effort to further scientific understanding in our field,” said Bayer’s Dr. Nick Hamon, Development and Technical Services Director.
