Bayer Launches New Maxforce Products For Flies, Fire Ants

Bayer Environmental Science introduced two new Maxforce products at PestWorld 2006: Maxforce Fly Spot Bait and Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait.

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. — Bayer Environmental Science introduced two new Maxforce® products at PestWorld 2006: Maxforce Fly Spot Bait and Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait.

“As part of our ongoing commitment to the pest control industry, we are constantly working to develop innovative products that help pest management professionals provide better service,” says Gordon Morrison, Maxforce Insecticides Market Manager for Bayer Environmental Science.

Maxforce Fly Spot Bait gives PMPs the opportunity to provide superior fly control in a variety of settings that previously could not be treated with fly baits, including inside commercial food handling establishments and outside residential homes. It can also be used in and around agricultural livestock production facilities.

“PMPs can use this spray formulation to control fly infestations in areas that were previously off-limits, such as indoor commercial dining areas, around a homeowner’s outdoor patio and barbeque area, and even around outdoor pet areas and kennels,” adds Morrison.

Maxforce Fly Spot Bait can be sprayed or painted onto surfaces, killing flies in 60 seconds or less and providing up to six weeks of control indoors and up to 30 days when applied around the outside of residences or commercial buildings. Maxforce Fly Spot Bait attracts flies with powerful attractants combined with the active ingredient imidacloprid. Additionally, Maxforce Fly Spot Bait contains BitrexTM, a bittering agent designed to minimize ingestion by non-target animals.

“PMPs across the country have already enjoyed great success with Maxforce Granular Fly Bait. With this new formulation, PMPs can offer their customers additional, more convenient options for fly control,” says Morrison.

Bayer will also introduce Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait in early 2007. This new product combines a proven bait matrix with the power of fipronil for fast, long lasting control of fire ants. “Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait works by both contact and ingestion. Foraging worker ants consume and contact the bait, then unknowingly bring fipronil back to the mound, killing the colony,” says Morrison.

Labeled for broadcast and individual fire ant mound treatments, Maxforce FC Fire Ant Bait will provide PMPs with a new, effective tool for controling fire ants For more information, contact your local Bayer ES sales representative or Bayer customer service at 1-800-331-2867.
