Bayer Launches Consumer Advertising/PR Campaigns for TopChoice Fire Ant Technology |
| MONTVALE, N.J. –Bayer Environmental Science announces the launch of a consumer advertising and public relations campaigns to educate homeowners about the importance of fire ant prevention, introduce TopChoice, and drive them to contact their lawn care and pest management professional.
The consumer advertising campaign, which kicked off the week of April 4, consists of a mix of television, radio and online in select markets in Florida, Texas, and Alabama. Thirty-second television spots will air during local news, sports, NASCAR programming and select prime time slots to resonate with key consumer audiences. Radio consists of on-air celebrity endorsements, as well as syndicated programming with The Big Show (John Boy & Billy), Neil Sperry’s All Garden show and Better Lawns & Gardens. Finally, online advertising targets local newspaper and regional web sites. To support these efforts, the public relations campaign consists of aggressive consumer media relations outreach, mayoral proclamation/product donation events, minor league baseball and festival sponsorships in select markets in Florida, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Louisiana, North Carolina, and South Carolina. “We’re happy to announce the launch of both advertising and public relations campaigns for TopChoice,” says Gordon Morrison, Maxforce Business Manager at Bayer. “We want to let consumers know that there is a better way to eradicate and prevent fire ant infestations. Part of the company’s Total Lasting Control™ initiative, the 30-minute training video educates PMPs on red imported fire ant biology and control, proper product application, TopChoice features and benefits, and selling tips PMPs can use to close more sales.

“PMPs will become TopChoice certified applicators while learning how to achieve year long fire ant control with one application,” says Gordon Morrison, Maxforce Business Manager at Bayer. “The 5th Week Training Series is designed to provide PMPs with in-house training programs that can be completed at their convenience,” adds Morrison. Included with each video is a multiple choice test to document training. Once the test is successfully completed, PMPs can forward a copy to Bayer, become a certified TopChoice applicator, and have their company listed on the consumer web site www.nofireants.com.
