RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – The Professional Pest Management and Vector Control business of Bayer, within the company’s Environmental Science Unit, announced the promotion of two sales team members to leadership positions in the business’s marketing and operations teams. David Braness has become the general insect control (GIC) product manager, succeeding Ray Daniels, who was recently elevated to head of marketing for professional pest management (PPM) and vector control (VC). And Scott Broaddus has assumed a newly formed role, business development manager, within the business’s commercial operations team.

David Braness joins the PPM marketing team after five years as a Western area sales manager based out of California. Braness has been in the pest management industry for 11 years. He has worked for companies such as Terminix and Massey Services, and has been at Bayer since 2011. In his new role, Braness is responsible for all aspects of planning and executing strategic marketing efforts for the general insect control portfolio, including brands such as Temprid®, Suspend® PolyZone® and DeltaGard®. Braness holds a bachelor‘s degree in business administration from Arizona State University.
Scott Broaddus has assumed a newly formed business development manager role, reporting to Ildem Bozkurt, head of PPM and VC for the U.S. Broaddus is responsible for leading business development projects by uniting sales, marketing, and product development efforts to drive business opportunities. He also is charged with identifying new and emerging markets and driving the implementation of market focused business plans. Broaddus was formerly the Western key account manager for Bayer for over three years. He has been at Bayer in various capacities since 2007. Broaddus holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from the University of Kentucky and will begin an MBA program at N.C. State University in the fall of this year.
