Bayer Researcher Vince Parman Passes Away

Parman, 50, was senior research scientist in feld research and development with Bayer Corporation.

CARY, N.C. — Vince Parman, 50, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2007.

Parman had been a key member of the Bayer Environmental Science Field Development team for the past six years, providing development and technical support for the Eastern Region to the Professional Pest Management business.  Nationally recognized as an expert in termite biology, he was in the final stages of completing his PhD on termite genetics at North Carolina State University.  Previously, Parman worked at Union Carbide as a research biologist and spent most of his time working on the research farm system in both the U.S. and abroad.

"Vince will be remembered for his many wonderful professional contributions, but in particular, for his warmth and humor, his rapport with colleagues and customers, his flexibility, and for his excellent science," said Dr. Nick Hamon, Director, Development and Technical Services Bayer Environmental Science, "His presence will be greatly missed by all of us."

Beloved husband and father, Vince Parman is survived by his wife, Joanne, and daughter Julia.  Please keep Vince's family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
