LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. — BedBug Central is searching for companies willing to give back to those in need this holiday season by participating in their charity Taking the Bite Out of the Holidays.
Taking the Bite Out of the Holidays, which started in 2009, is a charitable program sponsored by BedBug Central that offers free bed bug services to those in need who are suffering from bed bug infestations and cannot afford the required treatment to better their living situation.
Research Entomologist and Technical Director of BedBug Central, Jeff White, explained that it was through his experience in the field that he decide to start the charitable service.
“When I was working with bed bugs, I was working with a lot of homes where people were struggling to make ends meet, let alone deal with their bed bugs,” White said. “So it was a chance for BedBug Central and the rest of the pest control industry to give back to those in need, especially around the holidays.”
Robert DiJoseph, Vice President of Operations at BedBug Central, has single-handedly seen the positive effects that this charity has on the families affected by bed bugs and how important it is for pest control companies to continue to give back to those in need.
“Bed bug services can be expensive and many financially challenged people are forced to work more than one job, so getting good quality sleep is important,” DiJoseph said. “Being able to give back to those families who are experiencing bed bug problems and give them that relief at night so they can get a good night’s sleep is gratifying.”
DiJoseph added, “People are almost always very appreciative of the services and taking part in these charitable services are always one of the highlights of the holiday season for me.”
This year, White is hoping to encourage pest control companies all across the country to participate in the charity and bring some relief to those who are suffering from bed bugs.
“By using our resources, we will match participating pest control companies with those in need of charitable bed bug services and together we can help improve their living situation,” White said.
If you’re interested in donating services and participating in the Taking the Bite Out of the Holidays charity, you can email you participation request to takingthebite@bedbugcentral.com or you can fill out the company submission form on BedBug Central’s website.
