Bed Bug TV Goes Live Today

Premier Webcast will discuss the role of heat treatments in controlling bed bugs.

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - On Tuesday July 28, Bed Bug Central TV (BBCTV) goes LIVE with groundbreaking research findings on structural heat treatments for bed bugs. BBCTV, hosted by entomologist Jeff White, is part of the growing website bedbugcentral.com.

Bed Bug Central TV (BBCTV) currently boasts 34 recorded segments since its introduction on October 1, 2008. The segments hosted by White typically run between four and 10 minutes and are found on www.bedbugcentral.com. White is rapidly becoming one of the pest management industry's most recognized bed bug experts.

White piloted the LIVE concept on July 14 with a limited audience. The upcoming premier episode of BBCTV Live for the general public will focus on the effectiveness of Temp-Air’s Mobile Thermal Remediation unit to structurally heat apartments for bed bugs. White will cover the basics of structural heat treatments, the effectiveness of heat on bed bugs, and other topics of interest to consumers. White also will discuss where he believes this technology will fit into bed bug control in the future.

With the rapid success of BBCTV, White looked to add some innovation to Bed Bug TV. Going live was the logical choice. “I’m extremely excited about BBCTV Live because I think it provides audiences world-wide with a chance to tune in and hear the latest advances in bed bug control," he said. "The more universal we can provide good, accurate bed bug information the more we can raise public awareness which is truly the best way to prevent future bed bug infestations.”

Phillip Cooper, president of Bed Bug Central, looks at this new venture as another valuable feature of the popular website www.bedbugcentral.com. “BBCTV Live is going to be live, streaming video of an educational presentation on new technologies and concepts relating to bed bugs," he said. "Most of the information presented during our live presentations will be previously unreleased information about advances in bed bug control. At the end of the presentation Jeff will host a live Q&A session where he will field questions about anything bed bug related.”

Bed Bug Central is promoting the live webcast to homeowners, renters, property managers, pest management professionals and anyone interested in bed bugs. Viewers can tune in and take valuable information away from the presentation, according to Cooper. White is recommending viewers have a basic understanding of bed bug biology and behavior and, if possible, viewers should watch BBCTV Live Episode 1: Bed Bug Basics where he discusses the basics of bed bug biology and behavior.

The live presentation is expected to last between 20 and 30 minutes. At the end of webcast White will be available in the Q&A chatroom for questions for 30 minutes. Additional questions can be submitted at any time to White at mailto:jeff.whiteBed Bug TV Goes LIVE in four days@bedbugcentral.com

Participating in BBTV Live is simple, according to Cooper. “We will be using UStream (www.ustream.com) to broadcast the presentation and participants are not required to sign in to watch the presentation," he said. If you participate in the Q&A chat at the end and do not have a Ustream user name your name will show up as a guest. A Ustream username is free if you’re interested in signing up for one. Just prior to the presentation, a link will be posted for the presentation on Bed Bug Central’s homepage (www.bedbugcentral.com), Bed Bug Central TV’s homepage (http://tv.bedbugcentral.com) and in the public forums of Bedbugger (www.bedbugger.com) .
