TalstarOne multi-insecticide contains no alpha cyano group, has a long residual efficacy against target insects, is of low toxicity to mammals and birds, and is a non-irritant formulation, making it suitable for outdoor and indoor use, even in food-handling areas, the company reports.
“Due to the alarming comeback of bedbugs, FMC was prompted to investigate and seek EPA approval for the use of TalstarOne multi-insecticide as a residual harborage treatment for bedbugs,” said Don Claus, director, FMC Specialty Products Business. “While bedbugs are not known to transmit disease, they are a public nuisance and can be commercially threatening to the hotel or travel lodging industry. As such, we are pleased to announce the addition of bedbugs to the TalstarOne label.”
TalstarOne multi-insecticide must be applied by a licensed pest management professional as directed by the TalstarOne Supplemental Label titled “To Aid In Control of Bedbugs” (EPA Registration No. 279-3206). The applicator must have the supplemental label in his or her possession at the time of application. The use of TalstarOne multi-insecticide in a manner inconsistent with this labeling is a violation of federal law.
