After graduating from Texas A&M University with his degree in entomology, Bill Clark knew that his ambition was to be the owner of a successful pest control company. After much research he concluded that Beaumont and Southeast Texas was his choice. On Dec. 22, 1957 Bill Clark started the business that became Bill Clark Pest Control.
In the beginning his company was a one-man operation. Clark would put on his “selling clothes” in the morning and change to his work clothes in the afternoon to service the clients that he had sold. He says this is one of the keys to his success: He understands the importance of delivering above the client’s expectations and respecting the needs and talents of good employees that performs those services.
Beginning its 50th year of servicing the people and businesses of Southeast Texas, Bill Clark Pest Control has grown to be the area’s largest pest control company. His staff, headed by him with his degree in entomology also includes a doctorate entomologist and more than 40 continuously trained “bugsperts.” The Bill Clark Pest Control Staff has a total of 471 years experience in the pest control industry.
During the past 50 years Clark has shared his success with his employees and the community. He and his wife, Casey, have long been supporters and contributors to many of the charitable and civic organizations in the area. Bill Clark Pest Control was awarded the Torch Award for Market Place Ethics in 2003 by the Better Business Bureau of Southeast Texas and honored by the Sales and Marketing Executive Club as Executive of the year 2004.
Clark is a charter member of the BBB, having served on its board of directors and past president of the Beaumont Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Beaumont and the Texas Pest Control Association. The Clarks have donated an endowed scholarship to the Texas A&M Department of Entomology and helped raise money for other endowed memorial scholarships at the university in the names of some of their deceased friends of the pest control industry.
The Clarks still are actively involved with Bill Clark Pest Control and the pest control industry.
